East Beach Cafe

Littlehampton is an attractive small seaside town at the mouth of the River Arun. There is a good beach, sandy at low tide, a swimming pool, small sports hall, pitch and putt, crazy golf, 18 hole golf course, tennis and bowls. Also the famous East Beach Cafe and long bench.

The town centre which is partly pedestrianised offers a good selection of shops. Along the riverside are further small souvenir shops and restaurants. There is a small but comfortable theatre offering a choice of recent films or good amateur shows. Boat trips may be taken out to sea or inland to Arundel and Amberley. A ferry service offers the opportunity to visit the sand dunes on the West Beach.

For keen ramblers, the surrounding countryside is home to wildlife reserves and beautiful parkland. You can walk for miles across the rolling hills as you explore the Sussex Downs.

Many other interesting places are within easy reach by car or public transport. These include Arundel, Amberley, Chichester, Fishbourne, Worthing and Brighton. During the summer season the Chichester Festival Theatre puts on an excellent season with plays featuring well known stars. The Arundel Festival at the end of August offers a wide selection of entertainment including open air performances in the castle grounds and celebrity cricket matches. Direct trains to London Victoria take just under 2 hours.
